Zentopia is an Oregon-based CBD beverage company. Their CBD-infused, zero-calorie seltzers and naturally caffeinated black teas aim to deliver natural stress relief to their consumers. Their tagline, “Good-for-You, Feel-Good Drinks,” reflects the brand’s health-conscious attitude and “good vibes” mindset present throughout their messaging.
PROJECT
From “Sober October” to “Dry January” Zentopia promotes their CBD beverages as an alternative to alcohol. I had the opportunity to take a lead creative role in preparing the brief and designing the sets for the 2022-2023 Sober Season campaign.
“Good-for-You Gathering” focused on the sober-curious consumer, encouraging them to switch alcohol for Zentopia at holiday gatherings. The shoot featured CBD mocktails made with Zentopia and food pairings. Taking notes from liquor advertising, we created six sets, dreamlike table settings with bold, distinct color palettes, lush fabrics, and hints of festive quirk. The images intended to convey that nothing about the lavish, indulgent parties of the season would be lost by dropping alcohol for a healthier option: Zentopia CBD teas and seltzers.

Creating and shooting six sets, complete with drinks and food, within a single studio session was an ambitious task. In addition to the standard creative brief, I sketched full-color storyboards to act as a roadmap for purchasing props and quickly arranging sets.
